Black just like me!
Dear Parents and Young Readers
One day I presented a “So in Style-Chandra” Barbie doll as birthday gift to a friend’s daughter. I was so excited to have found a dark, beautiful, and stylish doll that closely resembled the features of this little girl that I could hardly wait to see her face as she opened her gift. I also purchased a male “Kenya Fashion-Dwayne” doll and a pink Barbie limousine for the dolls to cruise in style. At the party, my gift was the biggest and prettiest gift of all. I insisted she open it last. When she opened the huge bag and saw the BLACK Barbie doll her face was grieved with disappointment and anger. She threw the doll across the room and storm out with tears streaming down her face. My daughter ran behind her and I stood there mortified! Her mother turned to me and calmly said, “I told you she wouldn’t play with black dolls.”
This book was written to inspire and encourage little girls of color to love and appreciate the pigmentation of their dark skin. It is my hope that they will develop a high level of self-esteem, identity and respect for the person God has made them to be. Most importantly I want all little girls to know that they are beautiful beings with unlimited possibilities.
Therefore, I present to you “Black Just Like Me”
Enjoy,
Vincetta Williams, M.Ed
My Name Is Eve and I Was Deceived
My Name ls Eve and I Was Decieved is the long awaited book of inspired events
from the life of Vincetta Williams. Overcoming life’s challenges evolved into a
must share mandate from God.
Imagine being able to see greatness in your FUTURE, yet deceived daily in the
PRESENT, and taunted by disappointments of your PAST?
Williams thought her life had no meaning after a series of missed opportunities,
heartbreak, and an abusive marriage of 10-years. Living a self-sacrificial life that
pleased others led me down an involuntary path of depression. However, refusing
to let go of God’s spoken word over her life and his promise that she would
impact masses; she preserved through cycles of hell on earth.
Spirit of Loneliness
After RAVE Reviews from her debut book “My Name Is Eve and I Was Deceived”
audiences demanded an encore for another THILLLING novel. Williams expands
her captivating story-telling and writing talents to higher heights by taking on the
challenge to write her FIRST FICTION and “SHE NAILS IT!”
In her second novel “The Spirit of Loneliness”, Williams unravels the tapestry of
loneliness and reveals various routes to mountain peak experiences yet
exposes the snares and traps to a seemingly bottomless pit rooted in loneliness.
